OBSL & CTR Soccer Partner in Training

OLD BRIDGE, NJStarting Spring 2018, Old Bridge Soccer League and CTR Soccer will partner in

soccer training, starting with their recreation programs and continuing with their travel soccer programs.  Over the next calendar year, CTR Soccer will be providing its professional, experienced, and U.S. Soccer curriculum-based training and instruction to all facets of OBSL soccer training, including recreation training, travel training, camps, clinics, and tryouts.  CTR Soccer owners Tab Ramos and Frank Rizzi, along with Director of Operations Matt Ritter, will be working closely with the OBSL board members to ensure the needs of the soccer club, its coaches, and its players are being met and given full potential to grow and develop.

“As an Old Bridge resident and Old Bridge-based soccer training company, I am incredibly excited to partner with OBSL and give back to the community I live and work in.  Monmouth County has had a history of developing incredibly talented and successful soccer players and Old Bridge is no exception. Our goal is to bring OBSL the same level of professional and high-quality training that players seek when leaving local township clubs to better increase player retention, development, and understanding of the game,” said Frank Rizzi, who has won multiple state titles and a national title coaching local CTR travel soccer teams.

Tab Ramos, current U-20 men’s national team coach and Youth Technical Director for U.S. Soccer, is hopeful that more clubs like Old Bridge Soccer League will begin to consider player and program development based on the initiatives set forth by U.S. Soccer.  “From local grass root township clubs like Old Bridge Soccer League all the way up to the senior national team, player development is linked and the utilization of the U.S. Soccer curriculum is one way to ensure that nationwide we are developing soccer players on the same training and instruction principals.  It still allows coaches and trainers to be creative in designing and implementing their own lesson plans and programs but provides everyone with a guide on what to achieve within certain stages of player development.”

For Old Bridge Soccer League, the attraction to CTR Soccer started with our desire to start at the youngest and most basic level of training: their recreation program. By incorporating soccer instruction through dynamic and fun training and competitions, players will be both learning the game and enjoying the game while becoming familiar and comfortable with the CTR staff. From there, we hope to create a U7 pre-travel program to better transition recreation players interested in travel soccer. Kathleen Murawski, Board of Directors chairwoman of training for Old Bridge Soccer League believes “CTR Soccer is a great fit for OBSL because of their focus on youth development at the youngest ages and their desire to grow with our program over the years. This bottom-up approach is the best way to grow a program.”  OBSL co-chairman of travel soccer, Brian Morrissey, stated, “In my 13 years of being a part of this club and travel soccer, I have never been more excited for an upcoming season. CTR is a first class professional training company and with this partnership, there is no stopping this club.”

This March, CTR Soccer will be providing for OBSL recreation team clinics, open training sessions, goalkeeper training, and small skills travel soccer classes.  In June, CTR Soccer’s partnership will expand to include travel soccer training, as well as other various camps and clinics.  OBSL teams and players will be offered every potential opportunity to further their training and development.
